PROMO Magazine Cover Project

Create a magazine cover that looks like a real magazine. Choose the title of the publication. Then, be sure you include a title, photos, headline articles, dateline and follow a monthly theme. Be creative and make the finished product look as professional as possible. Be aware of the marketability and audience appeal of your magazine.

Issue, date, price and barcode are conveniently located on publication.	Good Title does not reflect the targeted audience. It is still creative. Issue and date are located on the front of the publication. Price and barcode are missing.	Fair Does not follow expectations. Is not creative. Did not follow issue and date expectations.	Poor The title does not meet any of the criteria. No Issue, date, price or barcode present.
Article Headlines	Great Article headlines are interesting brining the audience into the cover.	Good Headlines are not interesting and do not pertain to the magazine.	Fair Lack of interesting article titles.	Poor No titles
Photos	Great Photo is in focus and utilizes the composition elements. Photo is compelling and brings the reader into the magazine.	Good Photo is not in focus, it lacks clarity, and/ or the subject matter is not in line with magazine. Photo does not bring reader to the cover.	Fair Photo is of poor quality and does not add to the overall quality of the magazine cover. The photo detracts from the magazine.	Poor Photo is missing. Photo is self portrait. Photo was taken by someone else.
Graphics/Color	Great Colors/graphics are used to add interest to the cover. color is used to effectively bring in reader.	Good Colors/graphics used does not bring in the viewer. The use of colors/graphics are ineffective.	Fair color/graphic used is plain. It shows no research.	Poor colors or graphics are used ineffectively.
Overall professional appearance	Great The magazine cover has a professional appearance and follows a monthly theme that is easily grasped by the reader.	Good The magazine cover has a semi-professional appearance. It has some audience appeal.	Fair The magazine cover has an unprofessional appearance, but some interesting points.
