Essential Question	Exceptional "Thick" essential question. Original, well thought out, open ended question.	Good "Thick" essential question. Could be better thought out.	Fair "Thin" essential question, can be answered easily without much though or research.	Poor No essential question.
Quality of response	Exceptional The lesson given to Kindergarteners is highly engaging, on their level, and answers the essential question.	Good The lesson given to Kindergarteners is engaging, mostly on their level and answers the essential question.	Fair The lesson given to Kindergarteners is moderately engaging, not really on their level and does not effectively answer the essential question.	Poor The lesson given to Kindergarteners in not engaging, not on their level and it does not answer the essential question.
Adherence to standards	Exceptional High school students' lesson plan shows correlation to a specific Kindergarten and high school standard.	Good High school students' lesson plan shows moderate correlation to Kindergarten and high school standards	Fair High school students' lesson plan only shows correlation to a Kindergarten or high school school standard.	Poor High school students' lesson plan does not correlate to standards.
