Asking and Answering Questions about Text

Students will answer questions about an informational text. Students will ask and answer questions about various documentaries, referring explicitly to the movies for their answers. Students will use prior knowledge to answer questions.

Application	Level 1 Student answers only a few questions about the documentaries. Student could try more for their level of ESL. The answers do not always make sense. Answer is incorrect or no response is given.	Level 2 Student is able to correctly answer some questions about a text for their ESL level. Some of the answers make sense. Answer is incomplete.	Level 3 Student is able to answer most questions about a text for their ESL level. Most of the answers make sense.	Level 4 Student is able to answer all questions correctly. All of the answers make sense.
Details and Support	Level 1 The student provides no details or support from the documentaries.	Level 2 The student provides limited details or support from the documentaries.	Level 3 The student provides details and support from the documentaries.	Level 4 The student provides many details and support from the documentaries.
Mechanics	Level 1 The student exhibited numerous spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and/or grammar errors, for their level of ESL.	Level 2 Some of the student's answers are corrected for spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and/or grammar errors. Evaluated for their level of ESL.	Level 3 The student's answers have mostly been corrected or contain only a few errors in spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and/or grammar errors.	Level 4 The student's answers are free of any spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and grammar errors.
Effort and Neatness	Level 1 Student put little effort into answering questions. Answers are not in full sentences or include details from the movie. No sticky notes. Messy.	Level 2 Some effort.
