IB MYP Poetry Rubric 
Poetry Portfolio: This project is an assessment in the unit of Poetry that is a cross curricular project with ELA, Social Studies and Electives. This is task wherein students compile original poetry done in class showcasing the use of poetic technique. Please refer to assignment rubric for points on type of poem. The choices will include a couplet, ballad, quatrain and a sonnet (sonnet for GT only).

The content of the 1960s and the specific subject area of that time period is clear.

The content of the 1960s and the specific subject area is clear and expressed with understanding, orginality and great poetic expression.
Attractiveness

Beginning

The poem is messy or disorganized.
Developing

The poems and portfolio show thoughtfulness in its presentation. Images were not related but were used to enhance the presentation of the project.
Established

The poems and portfolio are attractive in terms of design, layout and neatness.
Excelling

The portfolio is exceptionally attractive in terms of design, layout and neatness. Any images used are related to the poems and enhances the overall presentation of the portfolio.
Neatness

Beginning

The project is not presentable. The text has a lot of erasures, was not neatly handwritten and/or handwriting was not straight.
Developing

A fair bit of the project is not very neatly done. Handwriting is generally neat and straight, but some pages deviate from that requirement.
Established

Most of the project is neatly and attractively done. 1-2 erasures, but the lines are straight.
Excelling

All of the pages in the portfolio were neat and attractive. No erasures or creases. Lines of the poem are straight with neat handwriting or typed.
