Photo Essay Rubric Photo Essay Rubric Students will create a two-three page photo essay on the topic of Research which will predominately feature interesting original pictures (2-4 a page) with captions and/or short explanations of what the photo is about. Presentation Clarity	Advanced Photos are selected with thoughtfulness and purpose. Captions or other writing explain just enough to enhance clarity without becoming a feature article instead of a photo essay.	Proficient Photos selected add to understanding of the topic for the reader. Captions or writing explain details not gained by just looking at the picture.	Partially Proficient Photos are selected that make sense to the reader. Student has attempted to explain some photos. Final product may not quite be the two pages required.	Unsatisfactory Essential requirements are missing:<BR> <BR> more than one page<BR> explanations of photos<BR> 2-4 photos per page
Writing	Advanced There are NO errors in capitalization, punctuation, grammar, or sentence fluency. <BR> There is also NO plagiarism.	Proficient There may be one or two convention errors.<BR> No plagiarism.	Partially Proficient Many errors, but reader can understand the meaning intended.	Unsatisfactory Errors impede understanding for the reader.
