Preparedness	Poor Student did not bring instrument and music to class.	Good Student brought instrument or music to class, but not both.	Excellent Student brought instrument & music to class.
Practice	Poor It was evident that the student did not practice the required pieces.	Good It was evident that the student has somewhat practiced the required pieces.	Excellent It was evident that the student has extensively practiced all required pieces.
Responding	Poor Student rarely responded to both the staff and peer's questions, ideas and opinions, and was always disrespectful.	Good Student sometimes responded to both the staff and peer's questions, ideas and opinions, but was not always respectful.	Excellent Student mostly responded to both the staff and peer's questions, ideas and opinions, and did so in a respectful manner.
Listening Skills	Poor Student never listened or watched when others were speaking or performing. Responses were not appropriate.	Good Student often listened and watched when others were speaking or performing. Responses were sometimes appropriate.
