Grid Drawing 
Using a digital photo, grid the photo in a 1" grid. Then create an inch and a half grid on your drawing paper to transfer your drawing to. After transferring your drawing using the grid, use two-three different pencil leads to shade your drawing. You will be graded on measurement, shading and texture techniques(hair quality), craftsmanship, and effort.

Measurement

Exceeds the Standard

Students measurements were correct. When checking original source had 1 inch marks and grid was correctly drawn. Drawing paper had 1 1/2 inch grid and was neatly drawn in correct dimensions. All sides are correctly numbered.
Above the Standard

Majority of increments were correct but a few might have been placed inaccurately. Sides were numbered.
Meets the Standard

Students has original grid drawn correctly but drawing paper was incorrect. Had to start lines over again. Sides were numbered inaccurately by placing them upside down or from right to left.
Below the Standard

Students increments were incorrect. Student tried taking shortcuts by only measuring one side of the paper. No sides were numbered.
Unsatisfactory

Students took no part in measuring grid but had the majority of their work completed by a friend
Craftsmanship

Exceeds the Standard

Student completes artwork purposefully with high level of craftsmanship. Drawing is neat, clean & complete. Student has taken extra care in the presentation of the piece and it is not wrinkled, torn, or otherwise “distressed”.
The drawing looks exactly like the original.
Above the Standard

Student completes artwork with some high levels of craftsmanship and some finishing touches. The drawing looks like the original with only minor flaws.
Meets the Standard

Student completes artwork with evidence of basic levels of craftsmanship. The drawing looks somewhat like the original.
Below the Standard

Student completes artwork with isolated evidence of craftsmanship. Artwork appears rushed. The drawing almost looks like the original.
Unsatisfactory

Student completes artwork without care or concern for craftsmanship. The drawing looks nothing like the original.
Value

Exceeds the Standard

All 6 levels of value is included in the assignment. Shading is smooth and there are no lines in the shading. Hair/texture quality looks full and realistic.
Above the Standard

Only 5 levels of value is included in the assignment. Showing high levels of smooth shading. There are areas of lines in the shading. Hair/texture quality looks somewhat realistic
Meets the Standard

Only 4 levels of value is included in the assignment. Showing evidence of basic knowledge of shading.
Below the Standard

Only 3 levels of value is included in the assignment. Showing a lack of effort in shading.
Unsatisfactory

Only 1-2 levels of values was included. Showing a lack of knowledge in shading.
