Solve the sytem using graphing
Poor
Student includes a graph with the axes and increments of the graph not labeled clearly. Only one equation is graphed correctly.
Fair
Student includes a graph with the axes and increments of the graph not labeled clearly. The graph will include the lines of both equations graphed correctly. The solution is not clearly shown.
Good
Student will include a graph with the axes and increments of the graph labeled clearly. The graph will include the lines of both equations graphed correctly with the solution shown on the graph.
Solve the system using substitution
Poor
Student will solve the system of equations using substitution. Work is not shown.
Fair
Student will correctly solve the system of equations using substitution. Not all work is shown clearly and in an organized fashion.
Good
Student will solve the system of equations using substitution. All work will be shown clearly and correctly in an organized fashion.
Solve the system using elimination
Poor
Student will solve the system of equations using elimination. Work is not shown.
Fair
Student will correctly solve the system of equations using elimination. Not all work is shown clearly and in an organized fashion.
Good
Student will solve the system of equations using elimination. All work will be shown clearly and correctly in an organized fashion.
Checking of solution
Poor
Student will include a check of the solution . Work is not clearly shown and the solution is not related back to the original scenario.
Fair
Student will include a check of the solution that includes all work. The solution will be the same for at least two methods of solving the system. (graphing, substitution and elimination). A description of what the solution means is not included (related to the original scenario).
Good
Student will include a thorough check of the solution that includes all work. The solution will be the same for graphing, substitution and elimination. A description of what the solution means is included (related to the original scenario).
Presentation
Poor
The poster will include limited aspects of the project in a semi-organized fashion.
Fair
The poster will include most aspects of the project in an organized fashion.
Good
The method of presentation will include all aspects of the project in an clear, organized, and easy to follow format.
Creation of Scenario
Poor
Student did not defined the Variables.
Fair
Student did not defined one of the Variables.
Good
Student successfully defined each variable.
