Welcome to the Ark Project 
This rubric is used to score students' book projects based on their independent reading. Book projects were chosen by each student based upon their strengths using Howard Gardner's Multiple Intelligence test

Evident that presentation is well rehearsed and though-out. Product is of high quality with noticeable effort. Product exceeds expectations.

Presentation is delivered without error. Product is creative and thought-out. Product meets expectations.

Presentation is lacking in many errors. Practice would have helped a great deal. Final product is complete but lacks effort and imagination.
Poor

Presentation has many errors and is clearly not thought-out or rehearsed. Final prduct lacks effort and imagination.
Creativity

Pictures, illustrations, charts, graphs, acting, sculptures.

Excellent

The project contains clear creative details and/or descriptions which connect to the text. The author has really used his/her imagination.
Good

The project contains creative details and/or descriptions that contribute to the reader's enjoyment. The author has used his/her imagination.
Fair

The project contains creative details and/or descriptions, but they distract from the project. The author has tried to use his/her imagination.
Poor

There is little evidence of creativity in the project. The author does not seem to have used much imagination.
Comprehension of Text

Understanding of main idea, details evident.

Excellent

Project demonstrates excellent comprehension of text using details from the text and providing examples of setting, events characters, and literary elements.
Good

Project demonstrates good comprehension of text using details from the text and providing examples of setting, events characters, and literary elements.
Fair

Project demonstrates fair comprehension of text using details from the text and providing examples of setting, events characters, and literary elements.
Poor

Project demonstrates poor comprehension of text using details from the text and providing examples of setting, events characters, and literary elements.
