Create A Country Geography Project Rubric

Students will research and present information, pictures, maps, links, and possibly videos, with information about the country studied. There will be an introductory web page, a page for each of the five themes of geography: Location, Region, Place, Human Envioronment Interaction, Movement. There will also be a bibliography. That is seven web pages total. Students will work in groups or independently, research, and present the information in a website.

Overall project	Unsatisfactory I had to do a project? Of what???	Poor I did something. I didn't use the full time I was given, though, and it shows. Little time or thought went into this.	Fair I created a project. It isn't my best, and I could have done better. Some details and thought went into this.	Good I spent my time wisely. I thought about how I was going to present the information, and did a good, thorough job.	Excellent I really outdid myself, and went above and beyond. I added extra details, and did a great job on neatness and paid a great deal of attention to quality.
Pics, links, maps, video	Unsatisfactory I had to add pictures, TOO????	Poor My work isn't very colorful or neat. It may not contain all of the required information. It is obvious that I rushed through this.	Fair I did put most of the required information on the visual aid. It may not be as creative, colorful, or neat as I could have made it.	Good My visual aid is acceptable, and displays all of the required information. I was neat, and used color.	Excellent My website exceeded expectations. It is neat, colorful, and has extra details.
Creativity/Originality	Unsatisfactory Creativity? That would require a project, right?	Poor Not much imagination or creativity happening on my project. I did not take my time and add many details. I wasn't very original.	Fair Some, but very little creativity. I didn't really spend too much time on this, and it shows. Little, if any, originality.	Good Good creativity. I really thought about how to make my project interesting to others, and spent time on it. I had original ideas, and was able to express them well.	Excellent Exceptional-I really put a lot of time and effort into making this really creative. Terrific originality!
Neatness	Unsatisfactory Again, that would have required us to have done something-which we didn't!	Poor My visual aid and bibliography-if I did one, are not the neatest. This is not my best work.	Fair My visual aid and bibliography could have been neater; I could have done a better job.	Good Neat, orderly, and easy to understand. Work shows time and effort put into visual aid and bibliography.	Excellent Exceptional quality. Neat, orderly, much time and effort went into this project and it shows. Bibliography is neat and orederly.
Content	Unsatisfactory What is content? Or I copied and pasted someone else's writing. This is called plagiarism.	Poor I didn't have much to say on this topic and didn't look up much of anything to help me.	Fair I wrote some about this topic, but not very much or it was poorly written.	Good I wrote exactly what was required to explain this and did a good job of it.	Excellent Exceptional amount of information. I went above and beyond so that people could really understand the topic and remember what they saw on my page.
Bibliography	Unsatisfactory I had to research something???	Poor I did very little research. My project does not have a bibliography, and it is obvious that I didn't do much to research my project/model. Plagiarism may be lurking here!	Fair I did some research. I may have a bibliography, but it is not in the correct format, +/or uses too few sources. I may not have worded things in my own words!	Good I researched my topic, and my bibliography shows the numerous resources used. I put the information in my own words, and really demonstrated my knowledge. I covered all of the required elements.	Excellent Exceptional number of sources cited on bibliography. Bibliography format is correct, as well. Much information-more than required, is given.
