Crayon Comparison Rubric

The students will research different crayons that can be used and added into school stores. They will compare the cost, quality, and quantity of each kind of crayon. They will track this data and work together to decide which kind would be best fitting. They will then present to the class which kind of crayons would be their choice depending on these factors using a slide show.

SC.2.N.1.3 Asking "how do you know?"	Poor Student did not compete the required task.	Fair Student supplied and showed a general basis of "why" they thought the crayons would work. However, little reasoning was given as to why they chose this option. Shows minimal understanding of concepts.	Good Student gave a reasonable explanation as to why these crayons would be the best choice. Some evidence and reasoning was given. Room for expansion.	Excellent Student backed up all claims as to why these crayons would be the best. They asked/answered questions with full understanding of concepts and expanded on all ideas.
3.3.c Bright Ideas, Collaboration, Innovation	Poor Student did not complete the required task.	Fair Student did not add a significant amount of work to the project. Collaboration was minimal and input was not adequate.	Good Student added a substantial amount of work to project. Worked with others, and introduced new ideas.	Excellent Student showed leader abilities. Collaborating with others and taking charge when needed. Introduced new ideas and added a trivial amount to project.
Presentation Quality/ Posture, Grammar	Poor Student did not complete the required task.	Fair Student briefly stated the project, little expanding was done. Poor body language and improper language used.	Good Student gave the bases of the presentation as asked. A good understanding was portrayed but still not showing full mastery of the presentation/project. A couple errors, but not interfering with presentation.	Excellent Students gave a seamless presentation. Posture was held and little to no errors when speaking. They spoke confidently and forward.
