Geometric and Spatial Reasoning
Students worked to sort 2-D and 3-D shapes according to various attributes in various ways. Students worked to identify specific geometric properties for various shapes. Students constructed three-dimensions, and identify two-dimensional contained in their structures. Students identified shapes and objects that are symmetrical (those that have congruent halves). Students learned about how shapes can move (slides, flips, or turns).

Application

Transfer of knowledge and skills
- Use their knowledge of shapes to construct a 3-D object and identify the shapes it contains
- Use their knowledge of congruent shapes to draw missing halves of objects .
-Superimpose congruent halves onto one another through a series of slides, flips, or turns.
