Pronunciation, Punctuation	LEVEL 4 Student prononounced all words with accuracy and confidence. Used all punctuation correctly.	LEVEL 3 Student prononounced most words and used most punctuation correctly -- not more than seven errors.	LEVEL 2 Student prononounced some words and used some punctuation correctly -- more than seven errors but less than fifteen.	LEVEL 1 Student prononounced most words and used most punctuation incorrectly -- more than fifteen errors.
Volume, Clarity	LEVEL 4 Student spoke very clearly, and was heard by all of audience all of the time.	LEVEL 3 Student spoke in a mostly clear voice, and could be heard by the majority of the audience most of the time.	LEVEL 2 Student's voice was rarely clear, and most of the audience could not hear them some of the time.	LEVEL 1 Student's voice was never clear, and the audience could not hear them.
Phrasing, Timing	LEVEL 4 Student used excellent timing and phrasing. Part/role was spoken in a steady voice. Student did not speak too quickly or slowly.	LEVEL 3 Student used good timing and phrasing. Part/role was spoken in a voice that was usually steady. Student spoke slightly too fast or slightly slow.	LEVEL 2 Student needs to improve on timing and phrasing. Part/role was hard to understand because the student spoke too quickly or slowly.	LEVEL 1 Student was not understood by the audience because the student sped through their lines or was extremely stilted and slow.
Gestures, Expression	LEVEL 4 Student used gestures, voice fluctuations, verbal expression, eye contact, and facial expressions effectively throughout to enhance performance of the reading.	LEVEL 3 Student used some gestures, voice fluctuations, verbal expression, eye contact, and facial expressions effectively to enhance most of the performance of the reading.	LEVEL 2 Student tried a few gestures, voice fluctuations, verbal expression, and facial expressions.	LEVEL 1 Student did not use gestures, voice fluctuations, verbal expression or facial expressions.
