Dance / Aerobics/Steps Routine 
For students to create an original step aerobic routine with an 8 count rhythm and perform each step motion 10 times. Students must use at least 3 steps from class routine and at least 3 transitions. Each student has a 5 minute window they must perform in. Students must turn in a written agenda with words or pictures detailing their steps and transitions before their presentation day. Students may use own chose of music /song to create,practice and present.

Good

The group shows a good understanding of tempo and beat, but rarely gets off beat or makes an error in rhythm.
Outstanding

The group is accurate in beat, tempo, rhythms and dance sequences.
Knowledge of the steps

Poor

Remembers a few of the steps/movements and tries, but group look lost and out of sync .
Fair

Demonstrates some knowledge of steps and choreography, but unsure of some movements. Sometimes hesitates/watches others and makes some errors.
Good

Demonstrates good knowledge of steps and choreography. Keeps up with the group. Few errors.
Outstanding

Demonstrates excellent knowledge of the steps and choreography and does it well.
Participation

Poor

Students did not participate much in rehearsal or final performance. Absent a lot or not contributing. No cooperation. Did not use class time.
Fair

Sometimes participated in rehearsal and final performance. Cooperation lacking at times.
Good

Students often participated in rehearsal and final performance. Use time efficiently.
Outstanding

Students always participated in rehearsal and final performance. Always used time well.
Preparedness/Presentation

Poor

Group was unprepared and did not know the routine. Clear rehearsal was lacking
Fair

Group was mostly prepared and mostly knew the routines, but could have used more rehearsals
Good

Group was prepared and knew the routine

and obviously rehearsed.
Outstanding

Group handed in everything and ready to perform. Knew the routine well and directions were clear.
Steps and transitions

Poor

Student uses at least 2 step motions and 2 transitions with an 8 count for 10 repetitions but does not perform them completely.
Fair

Student uses at least 2 step motions and 2 transitions with an 8 count for less than 10 repetitions.
Good

Student uses at least 2 step motions and 2 transitions with an 8 count for 10 repetitions.
Outstanding

Student uses at least 3 step motions and 3 transitions with an 8 count for 10 repetitions.
