Criteria: 8 full phrases

Not Yet Meeting Expectations

Less than 6 sentences, or the phrases that you do have lack either a subject or a verb in more than 2 sentences.
Minimally Meeting Expectations

6 complete, descriptive sentences with subjects and verbs.
Fully Meeting Expectations

8 complete, descriptive sentences with subjects and verbs.
Exceeding Expectations

More than 8 complete, descriptive sentences; alternatively, the 8 you have are well done and complex.
Criteria: presentation

Not Yet Meeting Expectations

Work is messy, pictures may be missing.
Minimally Meeting Expectations

Work is inconsistently completed, or seems to have been completed hastily. Printing is unclear, or colouring, if any, is not done thoroughly.
Fully Meeting Expectations

Work is completed with care. Printing is neat, book is coloured (or is VERY detailed in black and white).
Exceeding Expectations

Extra effort visible in publishing/finishing the story.
Lang: correct French

Not Yet Meeting Expectations

French is choppy, incomplete, and incomprehensible.
Minimally Meeting Expectations

Sentences convey the meaning of the picture, but may contain English words or words are missing
Fully Meeting Expectations

8 sentences are written correctly. Minor errors, if any, are to do with verb tenses and/or vocabulary words not yet learned at this level.
Exceeding Expectations

Sentences are written consistently in proper French and demonstrate a high understanding of how the language works.
Lang: authentic work

Not Yet Meeting Expectations

Work is exclusively translated and the student is unable to describe most of the words and phrases.
Minimally Meeting Expectations

Work demonstrates a level of understanding that is inconsistent with what has been taught this year, and is so complex that it is clear the author relied too heavily on Google translate.
Fully Meeting Expectations

Work shows an understanding of Grade 7 level concepts (ie not exclusively 'googled').
Any attempt made to use additional French can be mostly understood by the Grade 7 author.
Exceeding Expectations

Work shows understanding of Grade 7 level concepts, and correctly uses verbs that we've learned (er, avoir, etre). Any additional French is done in a way that is consistent with a thorough understanding (ie, if you read it aloud to me, you could tell me what each word/phrase means)
