Jabberwocky Assessment
Using the poem, Jabberwocky, by Lewis Carroll, students were asked to determine the poem's action and the author's purpose. Students were then asked to rewrite the poem using standard words instead of nonsense words; paying close attention to context clues and maintaining the author's original purpose. Students were also instructed to follow the same rhyming pattern as found in the original poem. Creativity was encouraged and neatness expected.
