TOTAL POINTS	10 Student chose a Common Topics (Worship / Church, Holidays, Discos, Dance, Heart Break, Seasons, Social Injustice, Love, War, Politics etc….)	20 Student used the common form ABABCB - Coda (Introduction, Verse 1, Chorus1, Verse 2, Chorus 2, Bridge, Chorus 3, Coda) Introduction – 4 measures Verse – 8 measures Chorus – 8 measures Bridge – 8 measures Coda – 2-4 measures	10 Student chose a popular style (Pop, Country, Rock, Rap, R&B, Disco, Electro Techno, Latin, Funk etc…) using a combination of 3-4 chord patterns.	20 Chorus has a catchy “hook” to make it memorable.	20 Verses go into detail to tell the story. (Who is in your story, What is it about, When, Where and How)	10 syllables are well balanced using some form of half rhyming and not all full rhymes.	10 Song contains a contrasting bridge that sounds different from the rest of the song, but stays in the same style (rock, rap, pop etc...) If your song is “Happy” or major, perhaps make the bridge “Sad” or minor.
