	Excellent 10 pts	Good 8 pts	Satisfactory 6 pts	Fair 4 pts	Poor 2 pts
Comprehension	Excellent Project displays an extensive understanding of the characters, plot, and theme in the novel.	Good Project displays a clear understanding of the characters, plot, and theme in the novel.	Satisfactory Project displays a sound understanding of the characters, plot, and theme in the novel, but it may be lacking in depth and/or complexity.	Fair Project displays a basic understanding of the characters, plot, and theme in the novel.	Poor Project does not display an understanding of the characters, plot, and theme in the novel.
Creativity	Excellent Project has extremely creative and original ideas. Truly showed the student's creative talents.	Good Project has several creative and original ideas.	Satisfactory Project has some creative and original ideas.	Fair Project has minimal creativity and original ideas.	Poor Project has little to no creative and original ideas.
Accuracy	Excellent Student provided accurate and detailed explanations where explanations were required.	Good Student provided accurate and somewhat detailed explanations where explanations were required.	Satisfactory Student provided explanations where explanations were required, although they were not as detailed as desired.	Fair Student provided simple explanations where explanations were required.	Poor Student provided few explanations where they were required.
Effort	Excellent Demonstrates clear and insightful understanding of the connection to the novel and work as a whole.	Good Shows time and thought went into the preparation and execution of the project.	Satisfactory Shows evidence of time, thought and preparation; however, it may have been somewhat simplistic in nature.	Fair Shows little evidence of time in the project. Minimum amount of effort in project.	Poor Virtually no time or effort in the project. Looks like a last ditch effort to turn something in.
