Create your own System - Rubric In this lab, students will be creating their own system in order to retrieve a coin out of a jar. Rubric Code: X239CB3 By abrahamboyo Draft Public Rubric Subject: Science Type: Project Grade Levels: 6-8

Blueprint	Level 1 Blueprint contains some required items discussed and written down in class.	Level 2 Blueprint contains some required items discussed and written down in class.	Level 3 Blueprint contains most required items discussed and written down in class.	Level 4 Blueprint contains ALL required items discussed and written down in class.
# of components	Level 1 Student has one or no components in their system.	Level 2 Student uses 2 components in their system.	Level 3 Student uses 3 components in their system.	Level 4 Student uses 4 or more components in their system.
Form & Function	Level 1 Student has put a limited amount of thought into the construction of the system and it does not perform the intended function of retrieving the coin out of the jar	Level 2 Student has put some thought into the construction of the system and the system is able to touch the coin but not lift it out of the jar	Level 3 Student has put a good amount of thought into the construction of the system and the system is able to pick the coin up briefly from the bottom of the jar	Level 4 Student has put an exceptional amount of thought into the construction of the system and it performs the intended function of retrieving the coin out of the jar.
