The Giver Final Project The Giver Final Project Students create a project of their choices: either a video, travel brochure, Elsewhere journal, or skit. Students can choose their own projects as long as the ideas are discussed with the teacher. Effort	Poor Project appears to have been thrown together with little or no effort. It is obvious that minimal time was spent on the project.	Fair Some areas of the project display some amounts of effort, but other areas are lacking and appear disorganised.	Good Most areas of the project appear organised and much effort is displayed. The student spent a reasonable amount of time with the project.	Excellent Project is very well organised and displays depth of thinking. It is obvious that much time has been spent on it and maximum effort is shown.
Neatness	Poor Project has several mistakes that interfere with the understanding of the project.	Fair Project has some mistakes that interfere with the understanding of the project.	Good Project has few mistakes that do not interfere with the understanding of the project.	Excellent Project is clearly completed with no mistakes. The project is fully understood.
Creativity	Poor Project has little to no creative and original ideas. The student did not find interesting ways to present information.	Fair Project has minimal creativity and original ideas and information is not presented very interestingly.	Good Project has some creative and original ideas and is presented in an interesting way.	Excellent Project has extremely creative and original ideas and student has found methods to present information in exciting ways.
Understanding	Poor Project does not display an understanding of the community, characters, rules, plot, and theme in The Giver.	Fair Project displays a minimal understanding of the community, characters, rules, plot, and theme in The Giver.	Good Project displays a clear understanding of the community, characters, rules, plot, and theme in The Giver.	Excellent Project displays a extensive understanding of the community, characters, rules, plot, and theme in The Giver.
Work Ethic	Poor Student is off task and much work time is wasted.	Fair Student is sometimes off task. Some work time is wasted.	Good Student is usually on task and work time is used efficiently.	Excellent Student is always on task and uses work time most efficiently.
