Level 3

Student is able to write the melody with few mistakes; with bar lines in the correct place, and in the correct clef for the instrument

Level 2

Student is able to play the exercise with above 50% accuracy to rhythms and notes. There is little attention to articulation or dynamics

Student is able to play the song with no errors in execution of the song. Attention is paid to musical phrasing and musicianship
Music Notation

Level 1

The Student is unable to read the music they have written. Major and frequent mistakes in notation and there are little or no dynamic markings or other descripitive markings
Level 2

Student is able to demonstrate basic knowledge of music notation rules. Bar lines are in the correct place with minimal errors. Some errors in barring notes together.
Level 3

Student is able to write music legibly with correct notation and include other descriptive markings that enhance the music, such as phrasings, dynamics, articulations, etc. Only minimal and minor errors in the music notation
Level 4

The transcription is completely free of errors in notation, is clearly legible, and has descriptive markings that enhance the music.
