Our Solar System Our Solar System Grade 3 is beginning a new science unit on Our Solar System. For our project, students will take their knowledge of our solar system and create a poster. The sun should be included as part of the solar system. All planets should be clearly labeled in some way with at least one fact about that planet included. Planets are clearly labeled	Poor 1 No labels are present, very difficult to find, or difficult to read.	Good 2 Labels are present, but they may have been difficult to find or handwriting could have been improved.	Excellent 3 Labels are clearly present and are easy to read.
Creativity	Poor 1 Very little or no creativity. Minimal color is used.	Good 2 Some thought has been put into the project. There is some color and the planets are close to their correct color.	Excellent 3 There is large amounts of creativity being shown. All planets have their correct colors and imagination has been used when designing the solar system model.
Planets are in the correct order	Poor 1 Planets are not in the correct order or many are out of place.	Good 2 One or two planets are out of order.	Excellent 3 All planets are in the correct order.
Planets are proportioned correctly	Poor 1 Planets are not correctly proportioned. Example: Mars should not be bigger than Jupiter.	Good 2 The proportions are close but there are a couple mistakes.	Excellent 3 All planets are correctly proportioned to each other.
