Students will work in groups to create a Google slideshow presentation. This presentation is about a rec center that will be built in Mountainside and will help enhance the recess program in both Deerfield and Beechwood, create community events on the weekends, and provide after school activities for students to participate in. The description of each section is provided in a slideshow that has been posted to Google classroom.

Location

This section describes where you will build your rec center.

Poor

The location of the rec center is unclear and has not been given an appropriate name.
Average

The location is set but the name of the building remains unclear or is not appropriate for school.
Excellent

The location has been determined and the building name is clear and appropriate.
School

This section shows how your rec center will help enhace recess in Mountainside. The main priority is child safety.

Poor

The recess program put in place is vague and contains little to no details about the different activities.

The rec center only provides 1 activity with rules and material. The explanation of the game is somewhat vague, leaving child safety a concern.

The rec center provides 2 or more recess activities with clear directions in place that show child safety is the number 1 priority. The activities come with a set of rules and the materials needed to play the games.

The activities that required teams, had a definite plan in place that would create an equal playing field.

This section focuses on how you will bring the rec center to the community. Who will be your target audience and what events will you provide.

Poor

The rec center provides zero community events and offers no details and what they will do for the community.
Average

The rec center only offers 1 community event or one event is clearly explained. Some of the details of the event remain vague, leaving questions to be asked.
Excellent

The rec center offers 2 or more community events, clearly stating where it will be hosted, what the activity will be, and who will pay for it. The events have a target audience and provide an opportunity for the community to participate in a fun and clean event.
Project Design

The clarity of your project. You took time to assemble the slideshow and know the information inside and out.

Poor

The slideshow contains paragraphs and 0 images. Their is no creativity to the slide and is left plain.
Average

The slideshow has some creativity but is left with a lot of words on a screen. It is difficult to follow especially in paragraph form.
Excellent

The slideshow is creative, using images to breakdown what is on the screen. Slides are used efficiently to space out information and make following along easier. Brief sentences are used with bullet points, but yet the group still gets the message across clearly.
