Understanding of Topic and Use of Evidence	Inadequate The team did not show an adequate understanding of the topic. Every major point was not supported with facts from the research.	Adequate Seemed to understand the main points of the topic and presented those with some efficiency. Major points were supported with facts from the research, but relevance was sometimes questionable.	Acceptable The team understood the topic in-depth and presented the information with ease. Every major point was supported with relevant facts from the research.	Excellent The team clearly understood the topic in-depth and presented the information convincingly. Every major point was well supported with relevant facts from the research. Many sources of research were used.
Rebuttal	Inadequate Counter-arguments were not accurate and/or relevant. Team was unable to defend position.	Adequate Some counter arguments were accurate, relevant and strong. Team was somewhat able to defend position.	Acceptable Majority of counter-arguments were accurate, relevant and strong. Team was able to defend position.
