Poetry Portfolio 
Students will compile five poems in a portfolio. The following types have to be included: alphabet, acrostic, diamante, cinquain and limerick. The poems need to be accompanied by a drawing depicting the subject of the poems. The poems need to follow the proper format. The portfolio must include a cover page with the topic 'Types of Poem,' an introduction (What is poetry for me?) and a conclusion (one paragraph on which was there favorite type of poem and reasons why)

The portfolio is missing 1-2 of the required content or format.

The portfolio meets 100% of the required content and format.

Minimal

The poems and portfolio are messy or disorganized. Images are not related and do not enhance the project.

The poems and portfolio show some thoughtfulness in their presentation. Images were not related, but were used to enhance the presentation of the project.

The poems and portfolio are attractive in terms of design, layout and neatness; the overall presentation is good.
Advanced

The portfolio is exceptionally attractive in terms of design, layout, and neatness. All images used are related to the poems and enhance the overall presentation of the portfolio.
Grammar & Punctuation

Minimal

There are numerous spelling, diction, or grammar errors.
Basic

The poet's intended meaning is muddled by some spelling, diction, or grammar errors.
Proficient

Some spelling, diction or grammar mistakes are evident, but do not diminish meaning.
Advanced

Proper use of modern English spelling, diction, and grammar are employed consistently throughout portfolio.
