The speaker introduced the topic, but some details were unclear. The introduction lacked an attention getter and/or a preview of main points.
Unsatisfactory

The speaker failed to introduce the topic OR the introduction was not useful in indicating what the presentation was about.
Presentation Body

Advanced

Logical, coherent organization and relevant information helped convey the speaker's message clearly. Detail and word choice were appropriate to the purpose. Smooth transitions were used.
Proficient

The speaker used logical order and relevant details to deliver their information. Adequate transitions were used.
Partially Proficient

The speaker delivered adequate information about the topic. The presentation lacked organization and/or detail to the extent that some main points were unclear.
Unsatisfactory

The presentation was difficult to follow due to a lack of organization. Little detail was given to support the main points.
Conclusion

Advanced

The speaker quickly summarized the main points, referred back to the introduction to bring the presentation full circle, and left the audience with a lasting impression!
Proficient

The speaker concluded the presentation by adequately summarizing the main points.
Partially Proficient

The speaker concluded the presentation in a disorganized fashion.
Unsatisfactory

The speaker ended the speech abruptly without conclusion.

Consistent and effective volume, articulation, and expression were present in the speaker's voice. Appropriate rate and pausing were employed.

The student spoke loudly and clearly enough to be easily understood. The speaker used adequate expression and rate.

The student could be heard most of the time but at certain points was inaudible. Little expression was shown.
Unsatisfactory

Audience had difficulty hearing and/or understanding much of the presentation due to low volume. Very little expression was shown.

The speaker seldom looked at the audience.
Proficient

The speaker looked up occasionally and focused on only a few people during the speech.
Partially Proficient

The speaker looked at much of the audience often.
Unsatisfactory

The speaker looked at all of the audience most of the time.
Body Language

Advanced

The speaker maintained good posture. Movements were purposeful and enhanced the delivery of the presentation. Facial expressions were comfortable and showed enthusiasm for the topic.

The speaker maintained adequate posture and non-distracting movement during the presentation. Expressions were comfortable.

The speaker had some distracting movement during delivery. Facial expressions seemed forced or absent.
Unsatisfactory

The speaker's posture and expression indicated a lack of enthusiasm or comfortableness with the presentation. Some movements were very distracting and made the speech difficult to follow.
