What The Animal Looks Like	Beginning Description of animal is inaccurate or does not give any important details.	Developing Gives a description of animal but leaves out a couple of important features.	Secure Gives an accurate description of how the animal looks.
About The Animal's Needs	Beginning Does not list any items that the animal eats.	Developing Lists one or two items that the animal eats.	Secure Lists three or more items that the animal eats.
Where The Animal Lives	Beginning Gives little or no details about where the animal is found and includes very few facts about the animal's habitiat.	Developing Gives some details about where the animal is found in the world,but only includes some facts about the animal's habitat.	Secure Gives details about where in the world the animal is found, and tells many facts about its habitat.
Interesting Facts	Beginning Gives little or no interesting facts about the animal.	Developing Give one or two interesting facts about the chosen animal.	Secure Student has given three or more interesting facts about their chosen animal.
