The purpose of this rubric is for students to deepen their understanding that African American scientist and mathematicians have contributed many inventions and information to society. In addition, to improve writing skills as they are to write a 2 page essay on the person they are researching.

Provides historical and or detailed explanations about several contributions to mathematics. Demonstrates at least two contributions or demonstrates one contribution in several different ways, can include the use of technology in demonstration.
