6th Grade Science-Simple Machine Group Presentation

This rubric is designed to assess the presentation of the group activity. The rubric should consider the performance of the group as a whole, as well as individual contributions.

	Excellent 5 pts	Good 4 pts	OK 3 pts	Poor 2 pts
Organization 25 %	Excellent Presentation was very organized and was very easy to follow. Transitions between group members were well planned and executed clearly.	Good Presentation was fairly organized and pretty followable. Transitions might have been slightly interrupted but did not take away too much from the overall presentation.	OK Presentation was not clearly organized. Transitions between members were jumpy or awkward.	Poor Presentation lacked organization. Poor transitions between group members individual parts. Presentation lacked order and was very difficult to follow.
Teamwork/Participation 30 %	Excellent The group worked very well with each other and the presentation was shared equally among the group members. The members were ready to present on the scheduled date.	Good The group worked well with each other and communicated well, but some members participated slightly more than others in preparing the presentation.	OK The group communicated relatively well with a few lapses in the presentation; some students dominated the presentation and others did not participate much.	Poor Group did not work well together. There were obvious miscommunications and lapses in the presentation.
Content 25 %	Excellent Visual presentation was creative and contained a variety of pictures and accurate information from the text and other resources.	Good Visual Presentation was somewhat creative but was missing one of the requirements. Missing minor information with only brief description of the topic.	OK Group members had minimal creativity and were missing two of the requirements. The presentation included a variety of pictures but the group members had little information about the pictures.	Poor Group members had little to no description of the content addressed in the presentation. Visual aid had no creativity and was missing several of the requirements.
Study Guide 20 %	Excellent TYPED and turned in the day of the Presentation. The Guide included all the BOLDED terms from the section. The GUIDE also included all important BOLDED information from the section.	Good Hand-written and/or turned in less than 2 days after the presentation. The Guide was missing 1-2 pieces of pertinent information from the section.	OK Hand-written and/or turned in more than 2 days after the presentation. The Guide was missing several piece of important information from the section.	Poor Hand-written and/or turned in more than 4 days after the presentation. The Guide is lacking most of the important information from the section.
