	Poor 1 pts	Fair 2 pts	Good 3 pts
Useful in all Subject Areas Can phonemic Awareness be used by children in all subjects at any time?	Poor This teaching style is specific to Language Arts only. Skills taught are not successful or do not crossover to other subjects.	Fair With minor interpretation or connections to the real world, students can use skills taught in other subjects.	Good Students can use skills taught in any subject, at anytime, without adaptive equipment. This can be done with or without teacher guided assistance.
Teacher Guided For this program to be sucessful does the teacher need to be present and leading the dialogue at all times?	Poor 100% Teacher lead. Students cannot work on this outside of the classroom.	Fair Teacher lead in the classroom but can be used outside of the classroom with parental assistance. Requires teacher assistance but can be a self directed activity.	Good Completely self directed activity. Teacher is not only source of knowledge but is a participant in the learning process.
Familiar to Parents If students were to explain their new reading programs to their parents, would the parents know what it is and how to assist them?	Poor This is a brand new program, a trial, or this school is a pilot for this program.	Fair This program is similar to something parents may have used in the past, only a few adjust have been made to keep up with changing student demographics.	Good This is the exact same program parents used. Concepts, teaching methods, essential questions, and desired outcomes are unchanged through generations.
