Vocabulary quizzes and assessments Vocabulary Students take six 20-word quizzes and two sixty word assessments (which is comprised of the most utilized forty words) each trimester. Rubric Code: W2WXA62 By hnadeau Ready to use Public Rubric Subject: English Type: Assessment Grade Levels: 9-12

Words used in context	Excellent At least 25 vocabulary words are present in the major essay due toward the end of the trimester.	Good only two mistakes on the sentences quiz (out of 20) or up to four mistakes out of the sixty word assessment, which has forty words on it.	Poor Up to four mistakes on sentences on the 20 word quiz or five-six out of the forty word assessment (covers sixty words)	2.5 20 word Quiz: Students can make 5-6 sentence mistakes if all definitions are correct, and for each missed definition, one less mistake is allowed in sentences. 60 Word Assessment (40 word test):Students can make 10 sentence mistakes if all definitions are correct, and for each missed definition, one less mistake is allowed in sentences.
Definitions	Excellent All definitions are given and thorough enough for the student to be successful (if a word has two very different uses, both should be written in)	Good Student is able to write definitions for 18-20 of 20 words or 36 our of 40 words.
