French Reading comprehension presentation 
Read and prepare independently a given paragraph. Paragraph is presented in French and then a translation is given.

Level 1

Pronunciation makes the reader unsure of what is being said. There is no attempt at French pronunciation.
Level 2

Student's voice is low and student incorrectly pronounces several terms. There is very little flow and student often hesitates. There is no attempt at accent.
Level 3

Student's voice is clear, with most words pronounced correctly. Student has some tiny pauses and there are only 3-4 pronunciation errors.
Level 4

Student uses a clear voice and correct, precise pronunciation of terms. Student is able to read fluently without hesitation and there are only 1-2 pronunciation errors. Student attempts to speak with some accent.

Student does not know what the paragraph is stating. no preparation has been done.
Level 2

Student has given a vague description with several mistakes and/ or details missing. Section was translated word-for-word with no attention given to correct/appropriate English diction
Level 3

Student has translated meaning of most of the paragraph with no mistakes. There are 1-2 small details missing, or translated in an awkward fashion.
Level 4

Student has translated all details without issue. Translation is not just word-for-word. Student has translated into correct conversational English (diction).

Level 1

Student has no idea what questions are being asked, even with teacher prompting. Student cannot answer questions.
Level 2

Student must ask for questions to be repeated and displays much difficulty understanding. Student hesitates and has difficulty finding the answer. Student answers in one word, or needs teacher to model response.
Level 3

Student understands questions but may repeat in English to verify their understanding. Students gives correct response, but there are hesitations and pauses. Student has to be asked to answer in a complete sentence and there are 3-4 mistakes in grammar use.
Level 4

Student understands questions immediately and is able to respond correctly and clearly. Student is able to use grammatical structures correctly and answers the question in a complete sentence without having to be asked to do so.
