Mexican Sugar Skull Inspired Design Mexican Sugar Skull Inspired Design Student will create a sugar skull. Students were to incorporate colors and patterns into their design. Neatness in art skills such as drawing, coloring and symmetry were utilized. Thoughtfulness in arrangement and composition is desired.Students are encouraged to incorporate patterns, symbols and elements that interest them. Skull should represent the student in some way. 	Level 1 The student meets few to none of the minimal criteria for this project. (N/A)	Level 2 The student meets most of the objectives and criteria for the project. (N/A)	Level 3 Student meets and exceeds the objectives and criteria for the project. (N/A)
Design and creativity	Level 1 The student shows very few or very basic design elements and shows little creativity in design.	Level 2 The student demonstrates knowledge and application of design elements and shows creativity in design.	Level 3 The student shows an advanced knowledge and application of design elements and principles (Use of color, balance, visual rhythm, harmony, unity, variety, etc...) and shows excellent creativity in design.
Follows directions	Level 1 The student does not follow all given instructions.	Level 2 The student mostly follows the directions.	Level 3 The student follows the directions precisely with little to no deviation.
Craftsmanship Drawing, cutting, gluing, erasing unwanted lines.	Level 1 Craftsmanship and neatness is inconsistent.	Level 2 The student demonstrates good and adequate craftsmanship and neatness when using chosen art materials.	Level 3 Excellent craftsmanship is demonstrated throughout the process of the project.
Attitude/Effort	Level 1 Student is distracted and/or not doing assignment and needs reminders about task. The majority of the work was clearly not done by the student and/or they received a great deal of help.	Level 2 Student demonstrates good attitude and work skills. The work is clearly done by the student with little help.	Level 3 Student demonstrates excellent attitude and work skills. The work is clearly done by the student with little to no help.
Represents Student	Level 1 Student does not include a feature to represent who they are.	Level 2 Student includes one feature that represents who they are but that feature is unclear.	Level 3 Student includes one or more clear features that represent who they are or their likes and dislikes.
