Scat A set of nonsense syllables that make up a tune.	Needs Improvment Scat is not used effectively and does not fit the rhythm	Work in Progress Scat is basic and somewhat fits a consistent rhythm	Decent Scat connects to the rhythm well and fits well with the rhythm	High Quality The scat has great flow and connects flawlessly to the rhythm
Tempo and dynamics Tempo is how fast or slow the song moves and dynamics describe the way the song ebbs and flows in relation to volume etc.	Needs Improvment The scat is choppy with a unnatural mix of tempo. It has no change in dynamics.	Work in Progress Tempo and dynamics are changed somewhat and enhance some parts of the scat.	Decent Tempo and dynamic changes add to the scat and enhance most of the piece.	High Quality The tempo, and dynamics enhance all of the scat composition and add to the listeners overall enjoyment.
Rhythm and Pitch Rhythm is the way the words go in the piece. PItch refers to the high and lows of the voice in the composition	Needs Improvment Scat has little or no impact on your peers. They sit and listen quietly, but have little to say about it.	Work in Progress Rhythm is somewhat consistent. Pitch is used effectively sometimes to enhance the quality of the scat composition	Decent Rhythm is consistent. Pitch is effective in enhancing the quality of the scat composition	High Quality Rhythm and pitch are exceptionally effective in enhancing the quality of the scat composition.
