Cuneiform Writing Cuneiform Writing Students will create their own version of a clay tablet and write in cuneiform on it. Quality	Not meeting standard The student has not completed the Cuneiform assignment completely.	Good The student has completed the cuneiform assignment, although they did not incorporate all of the cuneiform writing discussed.	Exemplary The student has successfully completed the cuneiform assignment and and used all of the cuneiform writing discussed.
Following Directions	Not meeting standard The student has not understood the concepts of the cuneiform writing. The student did not follow instructions.	Good The student has followed some of the directions, however, there are some evidence of confusion about what to do.	Exemplary The student has completed the cuneiform assignment, and it is evident that they used all the discussed concepts in their tablet.
Enthusiasm/Attitude	Not meeting standard The student has not applied him/her self to the task. The student has not displayed a positive attitude towards the task and did not follow the directions.	Good The student has generally worked well, although on occasion the student can be distracted from his/her work. Did not follow directions completely.	Exemplary The student has generally displayed a positive attitude and attempted to complete all tasks to the best of his/her ability. Directions were followed very well.
Deciphering Cuneiform	Not meeting standard Student has not displayed an understanding of how to use cuneiform and used incorrectly.	Good The student has a general understanding of how cuneiform was used.	Exemplary The student has displayed a well-thoughtout clay tablet, and demonstrates a deeper understanding on Mesopotamia's writing system.
