Book Report Windsock Rubric

The student will make a windsock that will include the title, author, trait about a character, problem, solution, & 2 events. The information will be written on strips of paper provided by the teacher. Students will also draw a picture about the story and roll the paper into a tube. Then tape the strips to the inside of the tube.

Content of Report Report contains title, author's name, vocabulary, plot, main characters, setting, conflict, theme, evaluation of the book.	Excellent The windsock covers all of the necessary content in detail (all 9 of the required parts).	Good The windsock covers most of the necessary content in detail: (at least 5-8 of the required parts).	Fair The windsock covers most of the necessary content in detail: (at least 2-4 of the required parts).	Poor The windsock does not cover all the necessary material: (only 0-1 of the required parts are included).
Organization of Report The report is written in a logical sequence.	Excellent The windsock follows a very logical path. It flows well together and is extremely well-written.	Good The windsock follows somewhat of a logical path. It jumps around a little bit, though.	Fair The windsock jumps around and is hard to follow.	Poor The windsock is unorganized. There is little or no logical sequence.
Grammar and Spelling Written in correct English.	Excellent The windsock has no errors in grammar, punctuation, or spelling, at all.
