Martial Therapy: Lightning Talk Rubric

Each student will complete a 5-minute presentation of a resource that can be used as part of Couples Therapy. The presentation should include a brief description of the resource and an explanation of how to use the resource in clinical practice (consider this a incredibly brief tutorial for your colleagues). Each student must bring a summary handout (one-page max) and a copy of the resource (if possible) for dissemination to colleagues as part of the presentation.

	Poor 0 pts	Good 1 pts	Excellent 2 pts
Organize and develop material 2 pts	Poor Audience cannot understand presentation because there is no sequence of information.	Good Student presents information in logical sequence which audience can follow. However, student does not complete presentation in time allotted.	Excellent Student presents information in logical, interesting sequence which audience can follow. Presentation completed in the time allotted.
Subject Knowledge 2 pts	Poor Student does not have grasp of information; student cannot answer questions about subject.	Good Student is at ease with expected answers to all questions, but fails to elaborate.	Excellent Student demonstrates full knowledge (more than required) by answering all class questions with explanations and elaboration.
Handout and Resource 4 pts	Poor No handout and/or resource presented	Good Student provides handouts but the handout is difficult to understand	Excellent Student presents handouts and resource to colleagues; handout is legible and easy-to-use
Voice,Eye Contact and Gestures 2 pts	Poor Student mumbles, looks to the ground ,reads all of report with no eye contact. Arms and Legs restless.	Good Student voice clear, maintains eye contact most of the time but frequently returns to notes.
