Outsiders Task #4 
Students complete a poetry analysis of "Nothing Gold Can Stay," and will read a variety of literary criticism on the poem. They will create their own analysis, then incorporate the criticism from other sources.

Approaching Standards

Student correctly summarizes at least one of the analyses, but misses the mark on all 3, showing that they can comprehend at least one of the analyses, but not all.
Far Below Standards

Student incorrectly summarizes all 3 of the analyses, showing that they do not comprehend the criticism, or the student leaves these summaries blank.
Re-Write of Initial Analysis

Exceeding Standards

Student illustrates an incredibly deep understanding of the poem, and incorporates more than one line of evidence from each of the criticisms provided to back up or dispute their own claims.
Meeting Standards

Student illustrates a deeper understanding of the poem than in their initial analysis, and incorporates at least one line from each of the criticisms provided to back up or dispute their own claims.
Approaching Standards

Student illustrates a better understanding of the poem than their initial analysis, but only uses evidence from 1 or 2 of the criticisms to back up or dispute their own claims.
Far Below Standards

Student does not show that they understand the poem any better than in their initial analysis, and their is no evidence from any of the criticisms to back up or dispute their own claims.
