Craftsmanship

Student's art is tidy and carefully made.
Required elements were glued, drawn and/or painted neatly.

Excellent

Student's artwork is tidy and it looks like the student took his/her time. Drawing/painting/coloring is neat and carefully done with no smudges, smears, etc.
Good

Student's artwork has some smudges, smears, etc. Paint has visible brush strokes, could have used a second coat, painting is chipping off, etc. Colored pencil or marker application isn't smooth - some white of the paper showing through the color.
Fair

Student's artwork has many smudges, smears, etc. Paint has numerous visible brush strokes looks rushed or cover wasn't completed. Colored pencil or marker application isn't smooth - lots of white of the paper showing through the color.
Creativity/Originality/Effort

Student used their own ideas.

Student's art looks complete. They spent a great deal of time sketching, painting, coloring, etc. There were numerous days of studio time allowed for this project and my work reflects that fact.

Excellent

Student's thought outside of the box to come up with a unique artistic idea.

Student filled the whole page with all the required elements and/or student added more than what was required of them. Students artwork looks like they spent a great deal of time on it or all of the studio days working on it.
Good

Student came up with an interesting artistic idea.

Design is simple; collage images are small or an area of the project looked rushed. Students artwork looks like they spent a fair amount of time on it.
Fair

Student's idea was predictable or copied from another student or artist.

Student's artwork does not look like they spent a great deal of time on it as many areas look rushed; numerous areas could have been painted/colored more or could have added more detail to it. Student's artwork does not reflect the fact that we had many days of studio time.
