Animal Report/ Invertebrates

Students are selecting an animal, researching and writing about their animal. The report should tell about where their animal lives, what their animal eats, what their animal looks like, and any interesting fun facts about their animal. Students will write their report notes on pre-printed word webs and then write a simple report.

What The Animal Looks Like Write a description of your invertebrate. Include a picture with important physical features labeled.	Below (1) Description of animal is inaccurate or does not give any important details. No picture of animal, or picture was very small.	Approaching(2) Gives a description of animal but leaves out a couple of important features. Picture is present but not labeled.	Meets (3) Gives an accurate description of how the animal looks, and has a detailed picture with important parts labeled.
Animal's Food Include at least three items that the invertebrate eats. Include pictures. They may be hand drawn.	Below (1) Does not list any items that the animal eats.	Approaching(2) Lists one or two items that the animal eats.	Meets (3) Lists three or more items that the animal eats, and includes pictures on the page.
Animals' Habitat Tell as many facts as you can about where your invertebrate lives.	Below (1) Gives little or no details about where the animal is found and includes very few facts about the animals habitiat.	Approaching(2) Gives some details about where the animal is found in the world,but only includes some facts about the animals habitat.	Meets (3) Gives details about where in the world the animal is found, and tells many facts about it's habitat.
Fun Facts added Add at least three interesting facts about your invertebrate. Ideas: Does it use camouflage? Is it poisonous? Do people eat it? You may find other interesting and fun facts! Meets (3) Student has given three or more interesting fun facts about their chosen animal.
