Level 2 A time period or historical event is mentioned in your paper, but not connected to any other events or facts in your story. It is not evident that you understand the historical time period you talk about.	Level 3 The writing includes a true topic from history. Some facts are interwoven into your story and they are accurate to your time period. Your writing demonstrates that you have some knowledge of history.	Level 4 The writing includes a true topic from history. Facts are interwoven into your story and they are acurate to our time period. your writing demonstrates that you have knowledge of that time period.
Writing Clarity & Creativity	Level 1 The main idea of the writing piece is unclear. There is no clear introduction, body of work, or conclusion.	Level 2 Your writing has one main topic, but may contain some information off topic. The writing is easy to read, but could use some revision. You could have included other interesting facts.	Level 3 Your writing stays on topic and makes sense. It has a beginning, middle and end, where there is a problem and conclusion.	Level 4 Your writing stays on topic and makes sense. It has a definite beginning, middle and end. You have taken the time to write creatively by using descriptive adjectives & adverbs.
