Summary of Reading	Poor No detail from the book, appears as though student is not reading	Fair Uses little detail from the book, however it does not make sense	Good Uses some detail from the book, student appears to be reading	Great Uses many details from the book, clear proof the student is reading
Strategy Focus	Poor No proof that student is thinking about their reading	Fair Student is thinking about their reading but does not address specific strategy	Good Clear proof that student is thinking about their reading and mentions strategy	Great Clear proof that student is thinking about their reading and talks about how strategy helps expand their thinking
Answer's Teacher's questions	Poor Does not answer teacher's questions from the previous letter	Fair Attempts to answer teacher's questions from previous letter, but it is unclear	Good Answers questions from teacher's previous letter, but may not include much detail or explanation	Great Completely answers questions asked by the teacher in the previous letter
