English I Novel Project # 2 Due: Oct. 01, 2019 English I Novel Project # 1 Due: September 12, 2019 Directions: The selected novel project should include colorful/creative elements with the title of the book, the author of the book, and an illustration. The project should include the title, author of the book, the genre, and a complete description of the main characters. Descriptive settings, a plot summary, and main events should be included if required by your project selection. Be certain to address all required aspects of your project selection. Good Work Necessary information was covered, but not presented logically or recorded in proper sequence.	Outstanding Work All necessary information was presented logically and recorded properly. Easy to follow format.
Plot/character description	Poor Work Basic information is missing: title, author, setting, main characters, etc.	Acceptable Work Most of the basic information is included in the the artifact.	Good Work Basic information was included in the required format for the artifact.	Outstanding Work Basic information was presented. Details were developed to add interest to the material.
Plot Summary	Poor Work Information covered does not describe the plot, conflict or resolution.	Acceptable Work The plot was not clearly stated or the conflict/resolution was not clearly stated.	Good Work Plot or conflict/resolution is briefly, but clearly stated.	Outstanding Work The plot or conflict/resolution was clearly stated and summarized. Sentences are well developed and presented in an interesting manner.
Grammar/ Sentence Structure, format	Poor Work Numerous errors in spelling, capitalization, punctuation, word usage, run-on sentences, sentence fragments. Paragraphs not indented. No evidence of proof-reading.	Acceptable Work Some errors occurred in in capitalization, punctuation, word usage, run-on sentences, sentence fragments. Paragraph formatting inconsistent. Proof-reading questionable.	Good Work A few errors occurred in capitalization, punctuation, word usage, sentence structure. Paragraphs properly formatted. Proof-reading inadequate.	Outstanding Work There were no errors or evidence of corrections in the report. Paragraphs were properly indented. Words were well chosen and sentences were concise.
Student Reading Evaluation	Poor Work Student did complete novel reading and submit work by deadline.	Acceptable Work Student completed some of novel and attempted project completion with acquire knowledge.	Good Work Student read most of the novel, and was able to create a novel project that adequately addressed project focus.	Outstanding Work Student read the entire novel and work diligently to complete a well-organized project that addressed all aspects of the selected project.
Artifact and Presentation	Poor Work Parts of the project were missing. Work was very difficult to read, paper was torn or crumpled, work was messy.	Acceptable Work Project was ripped, smugged or wrinkled. Some words or sentences were difficult to read.	Good Work Project was neatly written or typed. Words and sentences were easy to read. Artifact shows effort and is done carefully/correctly. Some required components are included.	Outstanding Work Project was neatly written or typed with no evidence of corrections having been made. Artifact shows effort, is done in color, and all required components are included.
