Topic of Concern Awareness Composition

Students will choose the issue or passion that they are most concerned about and raise awareness using what they have learned inside and outside of school. CP9.10 Raise awareness about a topic of concern to youth. CP9.11 Select art-making processes to convey ideas about a topic of concern to youth.

	Level 4 - Excellent Raising awareness of any topic of concern to youth in a very, dramatic fashion 5 pts	Level 3 - Good Raising awareness of any topic of concern to youth in an attention grabbing way 3 pts	Level 2 - Fair Raising awareness of any topic of concern to youth 1 pts	Level 1 - Poor Will not raise awareness, message not conveyed 0 pts
Graphics Composition has original graphics that clearly relate an issue.	Level 4 - Excellent Composition is all original and masterfully relates to the chosen issue. The composition looks very compelling/demands attention	Level 3 - Good All graphics are original and relate to the chosen issue. Attracts attention.	Level 2 - Fair Some graphics are original but many are borrowed from the work of friends. Not all graphics clearly relate to the issue.	Level 1 - Poor Graphics are not original or do not relate to the issue.
Slogan or question Work has an original slogan that is memorable and says a message about an environmental issue.	Level 4 - Excellent Slogan/question on the work is catchy, very memorable, and strongly conveys a message about an environmental issue. Poster is very informative about the effects of the problem and provides solutions for chosen problem.	Level 3 - Good Slogan/question on the work is memorable and does a good job of sending a message about an environmental issue. Good use of supporting facts and provides awareness about solving the issue.	Level 2 - Fair The work has a slogan/question but it does not send a very strong message about an environmental issue. Poor use of supporting facts and ways to solve the issue.	Level 1 - Poor The work does not send a message about an environmental issue.
Audience and message. Audience (who is this meant for?) and message are clearly written on the work and clearly relates to slogan and graphics on the poster.	Level 4 - Excellent Audience and message are clearly written on the work and makes an excellent connection to the graphics and slogan on the poster.	Level 3 - Good Audience and message are written on the work and relates well to the graphics and slogan/question.	Level 2 - Fair Audience and message are written but do not clearly relate to the graphics or slogan/question.	Level 1 - Poor Audience and message are not identified or they do no relate at all to the graphics and slogan/question.
Neatness Neat, organized, and visually appealing.	Level 4 - Excellent Composition is very neat, well organized and extremely visually appealing with many details included.	Level 3 - Good Composition is neat, well organized, and visually appealing overall.	Level 2 - Fair Not very neat or well organized. More time could be spent on details. Shows some planning, but there are	Level 1 - Poor Not neat or organized. Few details are included and it is not visually appealing. There are scratches and shows poor planning.
Mechanics & Grammar Student verifies the project is free of written errors.	Level 4 - Excellent Few errors in spelling, punctuation, capitalization, sentence structure, and grammar.
