Togetherness	Poor Students stayed in unison for less than half of the choral read and consistently lost their place reading with their peers.	Fair Students stayed in unison for majority of the choral read but occasionally lost their place reading with their peers.	Good Students paid attention to each other and stayed in unison for the duration of the choral read.
Mood	Poor Students did not depict a clear mood to the audience or depicted the wrong mood. The audience either could not interpret the mood or interpreted a mood opposite of the poem's actual mood.	Fair Students depicted the mood of the poem, but with some ambiguity. The audience could infer what the mood was, but it was not completely clear.	Good Students used vocal intonation to effectively and accurately depict the mood of the poem. The somber tone of the poem was clearly understood by the audience.
Rhythm	Poor Students did not observe punctuation or rhyme scheme and read through the poem with no rhythm.	Fair Students observed the rhythm of the poem, but with some fumbles that interrupted the rhythmic flow.	Good Students observed the rhythm of the poem and emphasized punctuation and rhyme scheme.
Pronunciation	Poor Students pronounced less than half of the words in the poem correctly.	Fair Students pronounced majority of the words in the poem correctly.	Good Students pronounced 100% of the words in the poem correctly.
Participation	Poor Less than half of the students in the group participated and attempted the activity.	Fair Majority of students in the group participated and attempted the activity.	Good All students in the group participated and attempted the activity.
