First Grade Feelings Rubric Students will be able to work in group settings to better assess the book being read. More specifically, students will be able to pull out specific emotions from the book and discuss and portray those feelings in a group atmosphere. They will leave the lesson with a broad vocabulary (referring to different feelings) and will be able to see the benefits of group work. Feelings Rubric
	Needs Attention 1 pts	Good 2 pts	Excellent 3 pts
Organization	Needs Attention Students come unprepared and unorganized to the group discussion.	Good Students made an attempt to come prepared but lack some components needed for the group discussion.	Excellent Students come prepared and have a deep understand of what was needed for the group discussion.
Demonstration of Vocab (Feelings)	Needs Attention Students are confused and do not understand the feelings being addressed.	Good Students understand the idea of feelings but are struggling with expressing the actual meaning.	Excellent Students have fully absorbed the vocabulary being addressed in the book on a level where they can talk and express the emotions.
Group Role Play	Needs Attention Students aren't able to portray the feelings they are acting out.	Good Students make an attempt to act out and portray the feelings from the book. However, they are still lacking the basic understanding of "feelings."	Excellent Students are able to act out the feelings from the book on an intense and accurate level.
