Upon completion of in-class practice of identifying and writing short stories that contain the main parts of a story, the learner will be able to effectively write and identify what components make up a story through descriptive details.

Characters

The main characters are named and clearly described in text. Reader can effectively identify and describe characters and their influence in the story.

The main characters are named and described. Reader would have some idea of what the characters were like and their influence in the story.

The main characters are somewhat apparent. Little detail and influence on the story is difficult to determine.

No clear description of characters.
Setting
