Comparing Animals with Vertebrates 
Upon completion of the unit, SWBAT: Compare similarities / differences between Vertebrates and Invertebrates. Explain traits and characteristics of vertebrates. Classify and label body parts of nonsense animals. Illustrate vertebrate animals. Translate mnenomic into knowledge of the order from Kingdom to Species. Analyze vocabulary words and provide definition. Organize assignments in Journal. Make use of print and internet resources to identify and model traits of vertebrates. Locate resources and supplies necessary to complete all assigned tasks. Take part in classroom discussions, group discussions, and group projects. Assume responsibility to guide their own learning by asking questions and clarifying requirements for materials, instructions, discussions, assignments, and timeframes. Maximize learning opportunities to develop and demonstrate a deep knowledge of the subject material and choose ways to elaborate on basic concepts.
