Oral Presentation - Comparing Cultures

Six grade students must compare cultures from different parts of the Eastern Hemisphere in terms of each of the following components: Politics, Society, the Arts, Nutrition, Economics and Ethnicity.

Length of Presentation	Unacceptable Oral presentation is under 2 minutes.	Below Standards Oral presentation is between 2 - 3 minutes.	Meets Standards Oral presentation is 4 minutes long.	Exceeds Standards Oral presentation is over 4 minutes long.
Ability to Answer Questions	Unacceptable Student is unable to answer any questions about the presesntation.	Below Standards Student is able to correctly answer 1 question about the presentation.	Meets Standards Student is able to correctly answer 2 questions about the presentation.	Exceeds Standards Student is able to correctly answer 3 or more questions about the presentation.
Comparing Cultures	Unacceptable Student does not compare any cultures from the Eastern Hemisphere.	Below Standards Student successfully compares 2 cultures from the Eastern Hemisphere.	Meets Standards Student successfully compares 3 cultures from the Eastern Hemisphere.	Exceeds Standards Student successfully compares 4 or more cultures from the Eastern Hemisphere.
Discussion of Components	Unacceptable Student discusses 3 or less cultural aspects of: politics, society, arts, nutrition or economics and ethnicity in the presentation.	Below Standards Student discusses 4 cultural aspects of: politics, society, arts, nutrition or economics and ethnicity in the presentation.	Meets Standards Student discusses 5 cultural aspects of: politics, society, arts, nutrition or economics and ethnicity in the presentation.	Exceeds Standards Student discusses 6 or more cultural aspects of: politics, society, arts, nutrition or economics and ethnicity in the presentation.
