Character Trait Paragraph

The paragraph must contain a topic sentence, a body supporting the 3 traits and a concluding sentence. Proper punctuation and capitalization is required.

Topic Sentence The paragraph must have a clear main/topic sentence.	Level 4 Paragraph has attention or some kind of introduction. Paragraph has a clear main/topic sentence	Level 3 Paragraph has a clear main idea/topic sentence	Level 2 Topic sentence contains more than one idea and/or the main idea is not easy to understand. Or the topic sentence is some place other than the beginning of the paragraph.	Level 1 The paragraph does not contain a topic sentence.
Paragraph Body The body of the paragraph supports the topic sentence with meaningful details.	Level 4 The body of the paragraph supports the topic sentence with three meaningful detail sentences.	Level 3 The body of the paragraph supports the topic sentence with two meaningful detail sentences.	Level 2 The body of the paragraph supports the topic sentence with 1 meaningful detail sentence.	Level 1 The paragraph does not contain supportive detail sentences about topic.
Concluding Sentence The paragraph ends with a concluding sentence that summarizes the topic sentence and the body.	Level 4 The concluding sentence recaps the topic sentence and the details in the paragraph body.	Level 3 The concluding sentence recaps the topic sentence, but not the body of the paragraph.	Level 2 The concluding sentence does not recap the topic sentence.	Level 1 The paragraph does not contain a concluding sentence.
Punctuation and capitalization Capital letters, commas and periods are used according to grammar rules.	Level 4 Capital letters, commas and periods and used correctly 100% of the time.	Level 3 Capital letters, commas and periods and used correctly with less than two errors.	Level 2 Capital letters, commas and periods and used correctly with less than five errors.
